The 4th meeting on Access to Medicines under Universal Health Coverage in the Asia Pacific Region (26-27 Sep 2017)
Participants from a total of sixteen
Asia-Pacific member countries (Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China,
Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Philippines, Republic of
Korea, Japan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Viet Nam) and experts from
Ewha Womans University (Republic of Korea), Health Insurance Review and
Assessment Services (HIRA, Republic of Korea), National Health Insurance
Service (NHIS, Republic of Korea ), University of Tokyo (Japan), University of
Newcastle (Australia), University of South Australia (Australia), and Fudan
University (China) were convened for the meeting.
Participants and experts
discussed high cost medicines, pharmaceutical policies in countries and new
pricing strategies, future activities and agenda, and the role of the network; topics
presented and discussed were as follows:

cost-plus, value-based pricing and differential pricing, and future activities
